Meet the Team

Hey Shoals! I’m Eric.

I’ve been in digital marketing since 2014, starting out in graphic design and website work for ad agencies before diving into content creation like videography and social media strategy. In 2017, I launched my own business, 10 Mile Marketing, where I help small businesses amplify their voice and dominate their local market.

I’ve always loved highlighting local food spots, and that’s how my journey into foodie channels began. My first channel, Bako Eats in Bakersfield, California, taught me an important lesson: it’s not about fancy cameras or perfect production—it’s about simple, authentic storytelling. That approach worked. In just a few months, we hit tens of thousands of followers and helped local restaurants pack out their seats, some even surpassing their annual sales in a single quarter.

I later launched Hey Fort Worth, using the same model, and saw similar success—helping local eateries engage their community and grow quickly. In 2025, my family and I moved to the Shoals of Alabama, and I started Hey Shoals to shine a light on the incredible restaurants, food trucks, and local spots in our backyard. The response has been amazing—people are discovering places they’ve driven past for years without ever knowing they existed.

When I’m not creating content or helping small businesses grow, you’ll probably find me spending time with my family, creating music, smoking brisket or training jiujitsu.

At Hey Shoals, our goal is simple: celebrate the best local food, connect people with their community, and give small businesses a platform to thrive—one bite, one story, and one video at a time.

Hey, I’m Jess.

I love watching hearts come alive when people share who they really are. That thread has run through everything I’ve done—mentoring youth, teaching 2nd grade, homeschooling, creating content, and yes… even professional eating (somebody had to do it!).

I’m a small-town girl from PA, which is probably why the Shoals feels so much like home. The close-knit community, lightning bugs, creeks and the people here make it the perfect place to raise our family.

So thank you, Shoals, for being the kind of community that feels like family. We’re so grateful to be here and share your stories!

Hello, I’m Jenn!

Hey, I'm Jenn! I’ve always had a passion for helping others, which led me to work with Meals on Wheels and a few other non-profits along the way. Growing up between Pennsylvania and California gave me a pretty diverse perspective on life, and I’m all about spreading kindness and making a difference however I can.

When I'm not working, you’ll probably find me hanging out with my dog, eating donuts (obviously), or soaking up nature. Oh, and donkeys? Big fan. They’ve got a special place in my heart.
